We’ve all heard the phrase, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. This is usually in the context of art, and means that art is subjective—that some people will find it appealing and others won’t. But design isn’t art—and good design isn’t subjective. In this post, we’ll explain why objective design matters, and why we never make a brand or design decision based on looks alone.
Whether you’re a designer or a client, you’ve likely been in a room where designs are being presented, and someone in the room (maybe even you) says something like, “Well, I really like this logo, but I’m not a fan of green. Can we make it red instead—I like red much better.”
