Atlas is an electronic health records (EHR) system currently being created by The Ottawa Hospital, the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and several other hospitals within the Champlain LHIN (Local Health Integration Network) to allow for more seamless patient care within the Ottawa region.

We worked with the communications team at The Ottawa Hospital to name the system, drawing on references to the improved navigation of health records, as well as a subtle link to Samuel de Champlain, the explorer and cartographer after which the Ottawa-area LHIN in named. The same references were used in the subsequent development of the Atlas brand identity.
