Canadian War Museum
The Canadian War Museum presents Canada’s military past and how it has shaped the country, with exhibitions that explain Canada’s rich military history, from earliest times to the present, featuring the experiences of people on the battlefields and at home.
Our relationship with the CWM started in 2012 and continues with projects ranging from printed collateral and souvenir catalogues, to signage, promotional materials and fully-developed exhibitions, such as Enemy Aliens and Gallipoli–Three Perspectives, among others.

VIMY – BATTLE. MEMORIAL. ICON.For Canadians, Vimy Ridge is layered with multiple meanings and this travelling exhibit was designed to richly illustrate these three themes on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the battle and the 150th anniversary of Canadian confederation.
SUPPLY LINE ARTIFACT BACKGROUNDERSWorking with the CWM’s learning specialist team, we helped to develop a document template for a series of artifact backgrounder fact sheets, which were distributed to national schools as part of an educational learning kit called Supply Line. The initial set contained 22 backgrounders, produced in both French and English.
NACO WWI BANNERSIn commemoration of the First World War centennial anniversary, the National Art Centre Orchestra (NACO) embarked on a world tour in 2014, performing wartime and other period compositions. To travel with the NACO, the CWM commissioned this set of travelling banners to highlight Canada’s WWI contributions to a worldwide audience.
nineSixteen is a treat to work with. I was especially happy with the design work that was done for our Supply Line project. The document templates they produced are clean, effective and attractive and make a great impression on teachers. The designers at nineSixteen are great communicators and are always able to accommodate our tight deadlines.
