Château Laurier Exhibit
Canadian Heritage is a government program that invites Canadians to celebrate their rich cultural diversity, shared experiences and values, and gain a greater understanding and appreciation of Canada’s history, heritage, and communities.
Each year during the busier summer months, Canadian Heritage develops and displays an outdoor exhibit along the Château Laurier terrace to expose tourists and passersby to cultural artwork or photography. In 2014, 2016 and 2017, nineSixteen was chosen to develop the exhibition, with each year focusing on a different aspect of Canadian heritage and history. The 2017 exhibit, in collaboration with Parks Canada, celebrated the 100th anniversary of Canada’s National Historic Sites and Canada 150, the nation’s 150th birthday.
